The 2010 Pen of the Year was heavily influenced by the company founder's (Baron Lothar von Faber) passion for the woods, forests and most importantly, hunting. The Caucasian Walnut barrel aesthetics were inspired by his collection of rifles, many of which boasted case-hardened metal parts and the pen is no exception. The metal parts are packed in carbonised leather and heated to convert the surface into steel.
