Elected several times as Prime Minister of #Greece, serving from 1910 to 1920 and from 1928 to 1932, Venizelos had such profound influence on the internal and external affairs of Greece that he is credited with being "the maker of modern Greece", and is still widely known as the "#Ethnarch."

He has sold over 60 million albums worldwide.Roussos was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, in a family where both father George (engineer Yorgos Roussos) and mother Olga were of Greek origin.

#Sophocles ( c. 497/6 BC – winter 406/5 BC) is one of three ancient #Greek tragedians whose plays have survived. According to the Suda, a 10th century encyclopedia, Sophocles wrote 123 plays during the course of his life, but only seven have survived in a complete form: Ajax, Antigone, The Women of Trachis, Oedipus the King, Electra, Philoctetes and Oedipus at Colonus.

Eleni Karaindrou(born 1939) is a #Greek composer, known for scoring the films of Theo Angelopoulos. She studied piano and Archaeology. In 1967, she moved to Paris studying Ethnomusicology. In 1974, she returned and establishes a laboratory for traditional instruments. It was then when she was introduced to the field of music for the theater and the cinema. She worked with Ch.Maker, J.Dassin etc. She received (1992) the Premio Fellini by Europa cinema.

Dimitris Sgouros ( 1969) is a #Greek classical pianist. Sgouros is one of the world's leading concert pianists. Arthur Rubinstein exclaimed: “I thank God for keeping me alive so that I would be able to hear with my own ears Sgouros play. He is the best pianist I have ever heard, including myself”.
