Abigail Adams (née Smith-November 22 1744 – October 28, 1818) wife of John Adams, the second President, United States, and the mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth President. Second, First Lady of the United States, Adams's life is one of the most documented: she is remembered for the many letters to her husband during the Continental Congresses. Abigail and their letters are filled with intellectual discussions and serve as eyewitness accounts of the American Revolutionary War home front.
