Overhead garage storage... Stow bulky items overhead by cementing together a simple rack from 2-in. PVC pipes and fittings. Bolt the straight pipe to the ceiling joists to support heavy loads, and screw the angled pieces from the "wye" connectors into the cross brace to stabilize the whole rack. The PVC’s smooth surface makes for easy loading and unloading.
This is the ring holder I made for my G-daughter. She loves big ones. She just got a gecko, so I added the gecko pin to it. Spray painted the frame (1 dollar) had paint. The fabric is from some curtains in her room. Used the pipe insulation (1.79) from hardware store. Hot glued fabric to insulation, then the tubes to the back of frame. She is going to flip!!
Use an extension ladder to clean your gutters? I do too. Get tired of taping rags to your ladder to prevent scraping the paint off the gutters? Me too! Get yourself some 3/4" inside diameter pipe insulation from your local retailer. Cut the length to fit and slide it over the ladder rails. Won't soak up water if you have to work in the rain! Won't scar your gutter finish either! Slides right on & you don't even have to use the self adhesive strips. I tried it today! Works GREAT!!
Foam pipe insulation and swimming noodles make great sanding pads. Soft, flexible foam makes a great base for sandpaper because you can easily squeeze or compress it to fit a variety of shapes. Wrap sandpaper around scraps of foam pipe insulation to sand medium-size coves. For large concave surfaces, use scraps of foam swimming noodles. These are easy to cut with a bread knife. Stick paper to the inside surface of pipe insulation to make a sanding pad for dowels and other cylindrical shapes.
