Another very old picture of the Kaaba. Probably during the time of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), it looked similar. By looking at it, one can also surmise how it looked at the time of Prophets Abraham and his son, Ishmael (peace be on them) who built it more than 4,000 years ago. Beautiful !! All praise be to Allah, The Almighty.

Gateway of Makkah (Mecca) City, Saudi Arabia. This large structure extends over eight lanes of traffic plus a wide center highway divider. It is in the shape of an enormous bookstand holding an open book which is the Koran. The large sides of the bookstand are filled with colored glass windows in blue and green. A very beautiful, old, picture of the Holy Kaa'ba in Mecca. Not sure of the exact date but was probably taken in the late 1800s or very early 1900s. Though it doesn't have all the modern splendor added by the petro-dollars in recent times, it's serenity and originality frilled it with an unique beauty much greater than could be added by the modernization of today.
