Skullcap Ottoman Empire, 19th century Velvet: embroidered with metallic thread; sequins More information The small size of this skull cap indicates it was made for a child. The sprigs formed of braid terminating in blossoms (sequins) appear on Judaica textiles from Ioannina dated to the 19th century. The candelabrum motif along the side is unusual.
