The Paard van Marken is a lighthouse on the Dutch peninsula Marken, in the IJsselmeer. It was built in 1839 by J. Valk. Low lighthouse of IJmuiden, Netherlands
The low lighthouse of IJmuiden is a round, red -brown, cast -iron tower designed by Quirinus Harder and was built between 1877 and 1878 by D.A. Schretlen & Co from Leiden. The tower has a height of 24 meters and, together with the high lighthouse of IJmuiden, forms a light line that marks the IJgeul and the entrance of the harbor. The tower has five floors and 88 steps. The lighthouse was identical to the simultaneously built high lighthouse of IJmuiden. In 1909, however, there were the top three floors and the Lichthuis removed and moved to Vlieland, where this entirely serves as an independent lighthouse. A new light house then came up by Penn & Bauduin.
Rotterdam Cathedral
Rotterdam Cathedral was originally the parish church of St. Elisabeth. When the first cathedral was demolished due to the many structural defects, the parish church on Mathenesserlaan was elevated to a cathedral and St. Laurentius, patron of the city of Rotterdam, was added to the name.
