Most US consumers wouldn't know it, but in certain global markets, Mercedes-Benz sells a luxury pickup truck. Dubbed the "X-Class," the well-appointed mid-size pickup is based on the Nissan Navara, a.k.a. "Frontier," and powered by a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel Mercedes engines.
It’s pretty amusing to see the mud flying up in the open air above you while you’re going through a harsh off-road section - this is just one of the things you can do if you get yourself a Mercedes G-Class Cabriolet. Alas, you won’t be able to do that anymore, since the model is now going out of production.
Mercedes-Benz is no stranger to building the G-Class with a bed, but there's never been a pickup truck incarnation of the AMG-massaged G Wagen (the G 63 AMG 6x6 doesn't count here, since its six-wheeler form means this is only accessible to a handful of enthusiasts, both financially and in terms of actual driving). Fortunately, the rendering sitting before us comes to change this, introducing a Mercedes-AMG G 63 truck.
