Antonopoulos Vineyards from Achaia, Peleponnese. Grape variety is the indigenous Vertzami, which is now thought to have originated from the island of Lefkada. 100% varietal wines are rare, but this one is a real treat. The grapes are sourced from vineyards in Lefkada that have an altitude of 1000 feet. Cassis, black berries and truffles. Bold and rich on the palate, with gentle tannins, breathtaking harmony. Needs rich food.

Tetramythos, a fully certified organic grower. Their vineyards are amongst the highest in Greece, and are located on steep slopes at Mount Helmos in Aigiala, Peleponnese, at an altitude of up to 3300 feet. This wine combines the international Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with the local Black of Kalavryta grape, which is only found in this small area. This intriguing combination works very well. Forest fruit, chocolate, burned earth. Elegant texture with soft tannins, explosive fruit.

Stylish label, of a stylish terroir & variety.

Lyrarakis Vidiano "Ippodromos" Varieties: 100% Vidiano. “Vidiano” is an indigenous Cretan variety. Targeting the production of a wine that will bring out the distinctive characteristics of the variety, we chose grapes from the “Ippodromos” vineyard. The variety expresses its aromatic and taste potential in this wine, while the discreet oak presence adds spice and vanilla notes in perfect balance with the fruity aromas. The mouth is rich, balanced, with a piquant aftertaste.

Avantis Estate, "Agios Hronos" 2009. A blend of Syrah with a small amount of Viogner (Rhone style). Dark red ruby color. Following 45 min of decanting: Charming and complex nose with all the typical sweet spices of Syrah, pepper, cinnamon, red fruit, and a lot of herbal notes (mint and eucalyptus). Same flavors on the palate, medium body with excellent but still young tannins. Adequate acidity, very good lasting. It will certainly evolve nice the following years. To keep an eye on it!
