🖤🐰Watch me turn this Dollar Tree frame into a simple and beautiful decor piece! Hope you’re inspired to try! Any frame will work! I have left this... | By Lee Lexi Creations | Hello my beautiful friends. Let's work with this beautiful frame from Dollar Tree. I have worked with the oval one before and I'm going to work with this rectangle one today. So I'm going to start off by taking off the backing and that extra little piece for the frame. And I'm going to use that backside and we're going to paint it white. Um we're going to create kind of like a stamped look on a book frame and you'll see exactly how this comes out and I hope you love it. So again I'm going to paint the whole back or actually the frame piece white because we're going to deco podge a book page on here and I need this to be white sometimes you don't need this but I did want the book page to be very noticeable. So I'm going to get my book page and I am going to just kind of crease it on here and I'm going to bring on my mod podge and we're going to decosh the piece down. I grabbed a sponge brush that I love to use for and we're just going to get that all over the surface. I'm going to bring my book page and we're just going to press it down making sure that I don't have any creases on here and after we press that down with the palm of our hand, we're just going to give it a good good dry with the heat tool. After that I'm going to grab my gator sander guys and you can use any sander or even a nail file for this and I'm just going to file down all the edges, all the excess paper on my little surface that I have going on here. And this is how it looks. Now I'm going to bring out my printable guys. I printed on tissue paper. Um and if you guys want to learn how to print out the tissue paper. I do have a video on that and I'll leave the link for that in the comments. And I'll also leave the link for this beautiful bunny that I'm using right now. It comes from Raw Pixel. com. I just print on tissue paper so I could see all that lettering on my book page. So right now I'm doing is I'm grabbing a small thin brush and I'm just adding some water to the tip of that brush and I'm going around my bunny and giving giving it rough edges instead of straight edges. Um I just love doing this technique. It's so much better than having to cut with scissors on here. So that's all I'm doing and again I did print on tissue paper. It's my favorite thing to do. And is a link on the how to do that in the comments now I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to dig a podge my bunny down and this bunny it looks almost like a sketched bunny so all that wording or lettering from the book page you will be able to see it through the bunny which is why I love printing on tissue paper it's one of the very very pros of printing on tissue paper and I'm just making sure that all my edges are down and nice and neat it is Very easy for tissue paper to tear so just be very careful with this part but I'm just trying to be very careful and take my time with it and do it in sections as well. That will help you a lot too. When it comes to tissue paper anyway. I'm going to go ahead and just grab the rest of that Mod Podge and take down all my little edges on the print and just get it all over the the surface on here. And it looks so pretty. You can see the lettering that I was talking about right there. It almost looks like I stamped this bunny on here. And and I didn't stamp. Now I'm going to go ahead and grab my frame. Um it is very detailed as you can see. But I'm going to give it a faux chalk paint on here. So I'm going to grab my white matte paint by Apple Barrel and I'm going to give it some baking soda. I'm going to mix those two and it's going to give me a chalk paint. So that's just an extra little tip for you guys. If you love chalk paint just make your own if you don't have any already so I mix that up and I made sure to grab a very fluffy brush for this because I need to make sure that all those bristles getting get in all those little crevices on the design of the frame which again it's a lot of detail on here a lot of design part so it does take me a while to get in all those little crevices but but I was able to do that so I'm just going around all the frame painting it in this chalk paint that I created and getting all those crevices and all those little spots with the design on it. I went ahead and did the side of the frame now. This is like the easy part and I get give it a quick dry with my amazing heat tool. Then I'm going to go ahead and do the inside of the frame as well because that is also gold and I needed to get it white as well. And all those imperfections that you see on there you can just cover those up in the end. So here I am just drying it up one more time. And we can add our backing once again. So I'm going to turn this over. Once again add my beautiful print on here or my little surface piece on here. And then the backing of the frame. And this frame could just stay as is from the back. Doesn't need anything else. And it looks super cool already but I do like to do a little bit of extra step. I'm going to take my distressed ink in the color black suit. Something like that. And this little makeup applicator and I'm just going to get that distress black on here. The little ink on here. Just to give give it a like a vintage look kind of and it also accentuates all that design that I have on here. I'm going to go in in some certain spots and make em a little bit darker than the rest and here it is. I hope you guys love this DIY. I think it's super amazing and super cool.
