The designing team, set the priority of using the finest quality materials throughout the hotel: clay roof tiles, wooden shutters and doors, rough marble, wooden decks and traditional pebble mosaics.
Stone that has been excavated from the site itself has been widely used, while the rest of the colors have been chosen from the pallet of the stone. In the lobby area the old Cretan technique of “kourassani” has been employed instead of paint, giving warm terracotta colors that change with time.

Much attention was given from the beginning to the environmental surrounding. A careful study of the flora of the area was commissioned in order to further attribute to the original idea of environmental preservation and complete assimilation. Trees and flowers local to the area or at least on the island were chosen exclusively. Olive trees and palm trees, alongside bougainvilleas, jasmine and levanter are spread around the site.
