Anastasios Papadopoulos (Kotza Anastas) (born in Edik Pounar, Heraclea, Pontus in 1896 - died in Ezenous on Dec. 2, 1922) - famed Greek rebel chieftain in Pontus during the period 1915 - 1922 who survived the Work Battalions of the Asia Minor genocide perpetrated by the Turks against the Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians. He was killed by armed bands after the exchange agreement was in effect. Known as the Kolokotronis of Pontus.
