A selection of some of the items used to disguise facial injury, during the early development of plastic surgery. Included are eyes, ears, noses, and parts of the face, as well as several pairs of spectacles, which were used to disguise the joins and keep some of the parts in place. The original caption reads: "Repairing war’s ravages: renovating facial injuries". This photograph was probably taken at 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth.
