383K views · 42K reactions | homemade almond joy candy bars! they’re gluten free, dairy free, paleo, and refined sugar free, and taste so much like the real thing! ingredients •2 cups unsweetened coconut flakes/shreds •1/4 cup raw honey or pure maple syrup •1/4 cup coconut oil •1/4 cup full fat canned coconut milk •6oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate (i use dairy free and refined sugar free) instructions 1. first, melt the coconut oil. next, make the coconut filling: add the shredded coconut, coconut milk, honey or maple syrup, and melted coconut oil to a food processor and process for about a minute, scraping down the sides as needed. 2. once smooth, add the filling to an 8x5 loaf pan lined with parchment paper and smooth it out then top with roasted almonds (be sure to press the almonds down into the coconut mixture). 3. place in the freezer to harden for several hours. 4. once frozen, melt your chocolate (in the microwave or on the stovetop using the double boiler method). feel free to add 2-3 tsp coconut oil to the chocolate to help thin it out. 5. once the chocolate is melted, remove the coconut filling from the freezer and and slice it into 12 bars. coat each bar in melted chocolate and place on a tray lined with parchment paper. 6. place in the fridge to harden for several hours. once hardened, remove from the fridge and enjoy! 7. store in the fridge or freezer. #almondjoy #mounds #homemadecandy #healthycandy #chocolatebar #homemadecandybar #vegandessert #dairyfreedessert #refinedsugarfree #paleodessert #nobakedessert #coconutchocolate | Ruth Anne Bigley | Art Music · April
