A woman's coat, festive wear; sleeveless, waisted at the back. Ground fabric made from black twill woven wool cloth; heavily fulled. Two panels either side of centre front opening; fourteen panels at back, creating a very flared and heavy garment. Elaborate couched wool braiding at square-shaped neckline; predominantly maroon, with blue, green, orange and black woollen yarns and yellow, green and blue cotton (?) threads.
