Santana: Famous Native American Indian Chief ***
Santana (1830-1878) also known as Set-tainte or White Bear Person was a famous chief of the Kiowa tribe in Oklahoma. Santana negotiated numerous times with the US government and signed various treaties during a protracted war in an effort to prevent settlers and prospectors invading Kiowa tribal territory.
Born in England, Lawrence P. Arnold stowed away on a ship bound for the U.S. when he was 13 years old. That was in 1908. He landed in Port Arthur, Texas. A friend told him that he looked a lot like Popeye. Lawrence began appearing as Popeye in parades and other events all over the U.S. This is how he looked in 1937. Lee Harvey Oswald in the 1957 Arlington Heights High School ‘Yellow Jacket’ yearbook. This must have been taken in September, 1956 because Oswald quit Arlington Heights to join the marines in October of that year. It's very strange to look at this photo of him and realize that this innocent-looking young man would wreak such havoc just six years later. Source: Traces Of Texas
