Packaging Egg Box - No, it isn't software exactly. But it is a great example of a design that works well at revealing the beauty and nature of the content to the user rather than hiding it, which is what UX design ought to do more.
DIY Angel Wings from Coffee Filters, Panty Hose, and Hangers -- Bend 2 wire hangers into wing shape. Twist the hangers together or use zip ties to complete the frame. Stretch panty hose over frame and tie loose ends in the middle. Fold coffee filters into quarters and secure with hot glue. Starting at the bottom, glue folded filters onto the wings and work towards the top. Fill in any bare spots. At the top, fold filters in half to cover the wires. Hang with cords fastened like a backpack.
