Nea Moni.Chios island. Nea Moni (Greek: Νέα Μονή, lit. "New Monastery") is an 11th-century monastery on the island of Chios that has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located on the Provateio Oros Mt. in the island's interior, about 15 km from Chios town. It is well known for its mosaics, which, together with those at Daphni and Hosios Loukas, are among the finest examples of "Macedonian Renaissance" art in Greece.
Chios island Didyma (= the Twins) is located on the road from Limenas Meston to Elata, about 5 Km. from Mesta. It consists of two beaches that look very much alike with small white pebbles and green-blue crystal waters.
Mavra Volia . Chios island . ( 5 Km. from Pyrgi) is a beach with small black pebbles, ’cause of an upheaval of the volcano overlooking the beach at the Prehistoric Area. There are three beaches, one next to the other, under the same name, with deep, dark blue waters.
Pyrgi . Chios island. The entire village of Pyrgi is one of the areas which still stands as it was built. The narrow roads, the innumerable churches, and amongst them the 13th century Byzantine church of St. Apostles in combination with the unique black and white geometrical decor of the outer walls of the houses. -The "ksista" -are the things which enchant the visitor.
