An inviting classroom is important to have. Also these rules will remind children how they should behave in the class.

Give Me Five is a reminder that they use in my field placement school (Sam Houston Elementary) to get the students to quiet down and pay attention. I think it is a great and simple symbol that the students respond well to. As soon as the teachers say, "Give me five", or raise their hands, the students know exactly what is expected of them.

I like this poster better then the one I currently have! Peace, Love and Learning: "Give Me Five" Freebie Más

This would make a great procedure (Harry Wong). Count to five or hold up one finger at a time when the class needs to refocus. Discuss what occurs for each number at the beginning of the school year and eventually the reaction will be automatic.

Song for give me five: (tune of Frere Jacques) Eyes are watching, Ears are listening, Lips are closed, Hands are still, Feet are really quiet, you should really try it -- listening well, listening well! (From a post on ProTeacher Community message boards)

Give Me Five Poster - Classroom Behaviour

This is a poster that reminds kids to be paying attention with their entire body. So when the teacher says, "Give me one", the class raises a one which corresponds with eyes. I like this a lot more than "look and listen" because it includes all of the body. 0642
