GMC 2.5 ton Truck was the workhorse of the US Army in WW2. Many strategists believe logistics win wars and this truck made American success possible. GM made 812,000 of these trucks during WW2 compared to 100,000 of the similar truck by the Germans who were forced to rely on horses instead. The versatile truck was made into a number of versions including fuelers, cargo haulers, troop transports, ambulances and more. Heavier modern versions are still made today as the M35 "deuce and a half".
