Wynton Marsalis, trumpeter, composer, teacher, music educator, and Artistic Director of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in NYC. He has promoted the appreciation of classical & jazz music often to young audiences. He has been awarded 9 Grammys, and was the 1st jazz artist to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music. He is the son of jazz musician Ellis Marsalis, Jr. (pianist), grandson of Ellis Marsalis, Sr. (hotelier), and brother of Branford (saxophonist), Delfeayo (trombonist), Mboya, and Jason (drummer).
