Newcastle on Tyne - The Bigg Market & Town Hall 1865

The building in the foreground is occupied by Humbles Basket shop on the left. A young lad, a scissors & knife grinder stands in front of the shop with his wheeled cart. The Town Hall is still under construction in this picture as there is scaffold around the clock tower. The building was completed in 1865.
