Visual Schedules
Collection by Kindergarten Bound
Different ways to utilize a visual schedule in preschool. Our curriculum indicates schedules should include large group, writing, planning, worktime, recall, snack, small group, gross motor & read aloud. In the #sjsd, we look for schedules to - be usable for children -at a central location in the room for easy reference -offer some type of indication of what is happening now -indicate a way to tell what is all done -have visual cues for what is happening next or later
Horizontal visual schedule on rings. As students complete a part of the day it is the children's job to move the card to the left. The teacher selects a child that is 'ready' for the transition to complete the responsibility. Notice that the length of the card correlates to the length of time that the activity occurs. #sjsd www.sjsd.k12.mo.us/preschool
"Move the bear" through his day. Horizontal visual schedule. Notice that the width of the rectangle correlates to the length of time that the children spend in that activity. This small schedule could be moved to different parts of the classroom for easy reference where the students are. #sjsd www.sjsd.k12.mo.us/preschool
