A diamond and emerald belle epoque tiara, 1910. Designed with the diamond pinnacles of a fringe tiara alternating with foliate pinnacles topped with pear-shaped emeralds, all rising from a laurel leaf band. This piece fetched EUR30,000 at auction
For everyone that loves to pin photos of jewels for your head, please use the correct terms and don't call everything a tiara. It adds to the general ignorance. (Pictured: Knoll & Pregizer Sterling Paste Diadem) I find it interesting that historic diadems are showing up on sites that should know better being referred to as tiaras. I just hate to see everything homogenized into 'tiara'.
