Skyros Pony, or Skyrian Horse is smallest of Greek ponies. It comes from Skyros island, it has lived there more than 2000 years. They're semi-feral, living on the mountainous region but every now and then some individuals are captured and tamed for agricultural uses. They're very small, only 100-115 cm at withers and usually bay, but also other colors exist. They're also very rare, only few hundreds are still left.
These are seemingly only historical sites on the island of Skyros, but do not forget the small quiet coves covered with fine sand, warm waters of the Aegean Sea in summer and small whitewashed one and two storey hotels.
