I wanted this nursery to be calm and cozy, a peaceful retreat in the home. I am not a huge fan of bright pinks and purples, so I went with a green that felt inviting and rich and softened it up with touches of mauve. Rather than a feature wall, we decided to do an easy wainscoting around the bottom half of the room. That way it feels like each corner can be featured.

Big life changes often come with big home changes. A new work-from-home job might necessitate a more permanent office space; a new stage in a relationship might mean making room for a combined living space. And a new kid on the way might mean converting a guest room into a kid’s room.Over the summer, soon-to-be parent Ella Faulkner of @housenumber_6 and her partner, Ollie, started to convert her orange guest room into a nursery for their baby on the way.
