I heated and pressed a PVC pipe around the neck of the 5 gallon container to support the weight because the waterer sides were too weak. Remove top of broken waterer to stabilize 5 gal tank (3 gal max fill). Then, I drilled a hole in the PVC pipe barely below the red lip level. As the water level drops below the hole in the PVC pipe, water runs out. Add pingpong ball to easily monitor water level. An upsidedown Mason jar in an upsidedown frisbee works, too.
