for Meccani Arredamenti, Cascina, Italy, the base, shelves, and pillars made of different woods lacquered and coated in various colours, blue glass, metal plaque: Meccani, height approx. 220 cm, width approx. 220 cm, depth approx. 60 cm. With a signed poster. (MHA) Originally Meccani planned to produce 85 bookcases, but then they only realised about ten.

Made of a terrazzo tile base over wood, burl wood drawers, pink patterned plastic laminate and clear lucite. Memphis used different materials, some expensive and others cheap on the same piece as part of their design ethos. This was the last large piece designed by Sottsass for Memphis, and I believe it was named for Max Palevsky who was a client and a friend of Sottsass. 88"x52"x13". See other images below.
