There are various ways to cook rice, this is my preferred method to make simple boiled rice. There are a couple of restaurant tips in here to make your rice fluffy and bright....

1 cup Basmati rice 
Approx 1.5 cups water 

1. Wash the rice till the water runs somewhat clear. 
2. Soak the rice for at least 20 minutes or up to an hour. 
3. Drain and place the rice in a pan and cover with water. The water should be about a knuckles height above the top of the rice.
