Illustration from "A Spy Among Us", fiction feature from Kayak magazine, March April 2008. This is a slightly earlier version of this illo ( the final is blue, with no paper texture ) , but I like how it turned out so I thought I'd share it. I did the colour separations by hand on paper to try and achieve the 2 colour look of mid to late 1950s kid's magazines that were printed on newsprint ( Humpty Dumpty, Children's Digest, etc. ) . One of four illustrations for this story.
