Students who walk into class without their homework are breaking a rule. Students who walk out of the classroom without turning in their daily work (or without turning…

a poster with the words tips to help with missing work and a worm holding a pencil

If you were a fly on the wall in any teachers' lounge, one of the common frustrations you will hear discussed is missing work. How do you get your students to do all of their work? Happy Monday, friends! I'm joining Tara for Monday Made It this week! I'm starting to get a little nostalgic about school starting back...I mean, the school supplies are out at Target, people! I'm not quite ready yet, but my battery is definitely at least halfway charged now! Last year was my first year to fourth grade. I LOVED the challenge of a new grade and teaching 110 kids, but all year I definitely felt like I didn't quite "have it together." I kept telling myself it would be easier…

a table topped with lots of files and a sign that says incomplete & missing work

Materials needed: a milk crate, hanging folders with labels, manila folders. What to do: create folders for each student. When they have missing / incomplete work, place the necessary materials in their folder. Somewhere else in the room, print up a list of missing work for all students to see. They can then go to their folder, grab the missing work, and turn it in! Great time saver and requires the student to take responsibility for their late / missing work.
