Godzilla (ゴジラ, Gojira?) is an irradiated reptilian daikaiju created by Toho that makes its first appearance in the 1954 Showa Godzilla film, Godzilla, as the film's titular main antagonist. This Godzilla is the first version of the character to appear in the Showa era, and served as the basis for the incarnations of Godzilla to follow.
