Here's a shot of downtown Roanoke in the City Market area, which has been around since 1882, according to the city's website. The Wachovia Bank tower stands in the background in the center of this shot.

The entrance to this building is impressive indeed. The image below shows the Gibson building's Flatiron design. In 1913 William Gibson built the flatiron designed Gibson Block. Originally built for retail space which included Turkish baths in the basement, the building was later converted to apartments. After many years of neglect the City of Edmonton completely restored the building in 1994, and today the building houses the Women's Emergency Accommodation Center.
