PLIE:It is a universally adapted term and when translating it we call it leg flexion. It is one of the most important leg movements in the development of ballet and it depends that the dance is not rigid and looks fluid. In the academic technique there is DEMI-PLIE and the GRAND-PLIE. These develop the elasticity and strength of the legs, training the external rotation of the Cox-femoral joint and rotated muscles.
