I found this pic of vintage bathing suits from a 1940's catalog. Aren't they all gorgeous?! I think my favorite has to be the turquoise swimsuit with the midriff cutout on the top right. So pretty.

Butterick 5449; ca. 1970s; Gil Aimbez - Misses' Swimsuit & Cover-Up. Swimsuit has "V" neckline, shaped bodice, cut-away sides, and elasticized legs. Contrast bias binding finish and shoulders straps and loop closings.
