Nobleman Simeon of Verkhotursk (+1642) lived like a beggar, concealing his origins. Walking through villages, he deliberately sewed clothes badly to endure abuse. He lived in churchyards, loved to fish like Christ’s disciples, converted many in the Urals and Siberia, and died at 35. Simeon heals the sick by appearing in their dreams and brings drunks to their senses, as he believed healing the body aids the soul. He is celebrated Sept 12 and Dec 18.
