"Assuredly, our problem is neither geographical nor one of personal alienation. Neither is it a problem of organizational structures, nor jurisdictional arrangements. It is something deeper and more substantive. The manner in which we exist has become ontologically different." - H. H. Bartholomew

The spiritual life demands an appropriate veneration—though not an absolute worship—of God’s creation. The way we relate to material things directly reflects the way we relate to God.

Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew I

The 16 Manliest Beards of Salvation History

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew: He considers it essential to seize the valuable opportunity which God is offering us to overcome divisions and to help bring peace and reconciliation to the human family. Further he believes the Church must manifest the possibility of the Orthodox Faith and Tradition to help resolving the problems of our time. For this specific purpose, he personally visited many countries, and among them countries where visits by any outsider would have been impossible.
