Quotes from "Kingdom of Heaven"
King Baldwin IV (leprous king) : "A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that."
Renaud de Châtillon a attaqué à plusieurs reprises des caravanes principalement marchands ou de pèlerins en dépit des accords passé entre Baudouin IV et Saladin après la victoire du premier au Montgisard.
Baldwin IV of Jerusalem (1161 – 16 March 1185), called the Leper or the Leprous, the son of Amalric I of Jerusalem and his first wife, Agnes of Courtenay, was king of Jerusalem from 1174 to 1185. His full sister was Queen Sibylla of Jerusalem and his nephew through this sister was the child-king Baldwin V (who succeeded him). He had a half sister through his father's second marriage to Maria Comnena - Queen Isabella I of Jerusalem.
"For although he was weak and impotent in his body, he was nevertheless vigorous in his mind, and he strove beyond his strength to disguise his illness and bear the burden of royalty" (WT).
