LZ-11, the Viktoria Luise, first flew on February 14, 1912. At 486 feet in length with 670,900 cubic feet of gas. She was named in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm's only daughter. Here the ship is cruising over the Kiel Regatta. Along with Schwaben, Hansa, Deutschland, Deutschland II, and Sachsen, Viktoria Luise was part of DELAG, the world's first commercial airline. Pre-war DELAG Zeppelins carried over 34,000 passengers on over 1,500 flights without a single injury.
