New England Primitive 10 Drawer Spice Cabinet Chest, Sometime in the early 20thcentury a New Englander constructed this 10 Drawer Primitive Spice Chest by using ten 4 ¼” by 7 ¼” by 2 ¼” tall, boxed dovetailed boxes. There is advertising on the back of each drawer for, “Le Clanche Zincs.” These were diodes for early batteries.
