Greece, 1944: Ioachim, the orthodox bishop of Chios (1880-1948), who joined the partisans against German occupation, refused to accept the decision of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece to excommunicate all pro-communist DSE (Democratic Army of Greece) members; for this reason, the Archbishop and Vice-Roy Damaskenos dismissed Ioachim in 1946, who died four years later. Here Ioachim inspects a DSE squadron.

The people demand "people's courts". EAM" [=National Liberation Front]. Collaborationists found refuge at the newly arrived government and the Brirtish under pretext of willing to fight any EAM attempt to establish a leftist regime.

Χολέβας (26 Ιανουαρίου1907 - 16 Ιουλίου 2001), πιο γνωστός ως Παπαχολέβας, ήταν ιερέας, φιλόλογος, ιστορικός, αρχαιολόγος και μέλος του Ελληνικού Λαϊκού Απελευθερωτικού Στρατού (ΕΛΑΣ), με το ψευδώνυμο "Παπαφλέσσας", κατά την διάρκεια της Εθνικής Αντίστασης.
