Roman Aquaduct of Segovia,Spain

Acueducto de Segovia The roman Aqueduct of Segovia,Spain- This picture does not do it justice, these Aqueducts were one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, I will never forget standing right there as long as I live!

Segovia Aqueduct. Built to bring water into the city, it is a free-standing arcade composed of over 20,000 granite blocks that are held together without mortar or any other binding agents. After nearly 2000 years it it is an impressive Roman structure, that's size and preservation are unmatched anywhere in Europe. Sadly it is now being seriously threatened by pollution and the traffic vibrations of our modern world.

Aqueduct Of Segovia, was built in the century AD under the Emperor Domitian, and may be completed under Trajan in the early second century, this channel serves to bring water from the River Segovia Fuente Fria to within about 16 kilometers.

Such a beautiful statue. He stands in Delphi museum in Greece. The “charioteer” is a life size statue in bronze that was cast about 475 B.C. It was discovered in 1896 near the Temple of Apollo. Usually bronze statues such as this were melted down and recycled after they had outlived their usefulness/interest. But his statue had fallen off its pedestal and was crushed during the earthquake of 373 B.C.—and thus has been preserved almost intact.
