A newspaper photo: Government troops just shot on to the striking tobacco workers; Tassos Toussis lays dead on a wooden door pannel, his mother crying above her son's body. Yannis Ritsos, shocked by this photo wrote during the 2 following days "Epitaphios". Mikis Theodorakis composed music to accompany this poem by Ritsos.
