Η αγία νεομάρτυς Χρυσή (13 Οκτωβρίου)

Η αγία γεννήθηκε σ΄ ένα χωριό του νομού Πέλλας στα τέλη του 18ου αιώνα, τη Σλάτενα, που σήμερα ονομάζεται Χρυσή. Καταγόταν από αγράμματους και φτωχούς γονείς, οι οποίοι αγωνίζονταν σκληρά για να εξασφαλίσουν το καθημερινό τους ψωμί, δουλεύοντας στα χωραφάκια τους. Είχαν ν΄ αναθρέψουν τέσσερις θυγατέρες. Οι τίμιοι αυτοί βιοπαλαιστές, παρά τον φόβο των Τούτκων κατακτητών, δεν παρέλειψαν να διδάξουν στα παιδιά τους τη χριστιανική πίστη. Ιδιαίτερα η κόρη τους, η Χρυσή, κορίτσι χαριτωμένο…
