Haris Alexiou (Χάρις Αλεξίου) appeared in the Greek musical scene in the early '70s. Her charismatic voice, combined with a unique way of performing and a strong scenic presence, very soon led her to the top. Today she is still at the top, always working hard, always seeking new ways of expression and always giving prestige and value to the contemporary light and popular Greek music.
Kariofilia Karampeti,the modern embodiment of classic Greek plays,studied Drama at the National Theatre of Northern Greece.Her name always attracted huge crowds to the theater.She has taken part in ancient drama such as "Orestia","Oedipus Tyrannous", "Persae"," Medea" and others.She was honoured for her exquisite talent many times.

Nanos Valaoritis (1921-) is a distinguished Greek writer. He has published poems, novels and playwrights. His correspondence with George Seferis "Allilographia 1945-1968" became a bestseller. He has lived in Greece, England, France and the US. He is considered the most important poet of the Hellenic diaspora since Konstantinos Kavafis.
Nikiforos Vrettakos, Poet, Academician, was born on January 1st 1912-1991. wrote several volumes of poems and several other books such as the study "Nikos Kazantzakis -His Anguish and His Work", the autobiographical "Odyni"and the oratorical, "Liturgy Bellow the Acropolis, received many national awards for poetry. He was proclaimed "The Saint of Greek poetry". He also received an Honorary Doctorate in literature from the University of Athens, and was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Poetry.
Eugene Trivizas,author of more than 100 children's books,is one of the most important contemporary Greek authors.He got his LLB degree and BSc in Politics got an LLM degree in Comparative Criminal Law from the Un. of London also awarded his PhD in Criminology in 1979.He is currently Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Reading,Great Britain. For more than 30 ys he was involved with almost all genres of literature:fairytales, poetry and so on

Emmanuel G Kriaras is a Greek lexicographer and philologist,Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.In 1950 he was elected to the chair of Medieval Greek Philology teaching until 1968, due to his dismissal by the junta.He wrote the Lexicon of Medieval Greek Demotic Literature,the Greek Dictionary of the Modern Demotic Language.In recognition of his work and to mark his 100th birthday,he was awarded the "Golden Aristotle" by the University of Thessaloniki
