These tapas plates are individually handmade by me from textured terracotta clay. Each plate starts off by rolling out a slab of clay, cutting the base shape and then attaching a coil of clay to build up the rim. I then decorate with slip and apply a gorgeous floral or geometric pattern and fire in the kiln. After two firings, I give each plate a coat of glaze and then fire again. In many of my ceramic pieces you will find slight imperfections and marks left by the handmade process…
