Temple of Hercules at Cori, Italia. The columns are fluted part of the way and then down below those flutes were covered over with stucco, which was painted. Cori was well developed in the age of the expansion of Rome (7th-6th century BC). It became a Roman possession after the Social War (90-88 BC). The most famous monument of Cori is the Temple to Hercules which is located at the very top of the town; it was studied by many Renaissance artists, including Raphael.
