Exquisitely detailed, filigreed and artistically floral engraved, silver inlays with swinging flower motif buttons and remarkable 2 1/8" cutout rowels with twelve elegant, 3-prong stems, rising from the six inlaid flowers that form the center of the stylized rowel. Antonio Cortes' acclaimed 1935 book, Hierros Forjados, on Mexican iron and silver, depicts a very similar pair (see plate No 26) dating the spurs to the 18th century.
