Herbert W. Franke

Herbert Werner Franke (* 14. Mai 1927 in Wien) ist ein österreichischer Wissenschaftler und Schriftsteller. Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten lebenden deutschsprachigen Science-Fiction-Autoren und schrieb auch unter den Pseudonymen Sergius Both und Peter Parsival. Exhibit 11: GRAMUS 1973. Herbert Franke is a science fiction author, computer artist and co-founder of Ars Electronica. One of the fathers of computer art, his interest in graphical music also makes him the spiritual father of the VJ. Inspired by the visual appeal of fireworks and kaleidoscopes, his software program GRAMUS allows a player to use a computer keyboard to improvise real-time animations set to music.
