Herschel H Green, P-51 fighter Pilot Ace, flew with the 325th fighter group, "Checktail Clan." He flew P-40s, P-47s also. Grounded after 18 aerial victories. He was the leading Ace of the 15th Air Force. Highly recommend this book: "Herky!, The memoirs of a Checkertail Ace." Many great pictures too.

The Boeing 307 Stratoliner first flew on December 31, 1938. It was the first airliner with a pressurized fuselage. The "Clipper Flying Cloud," now on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center, is the last intact Boeing 307 Stratoliner.
